With years of practical experience, being an emt I realize that if I don't stock my ambulance and jumped bag with all the correct medical equipment and supplies before I leave the fire station, I cannot be able to do my job adequately. Medical supplies are made up of a lot of bandages crêpe bandages through to throw away clamps. Bandages include things like soft dressings, triangular bandages and or hard bandages. I need to make sure I've got small bandage for dealing with small areas and larger bandages for large areas when dealing with major motor vehicle collisions.
What's more, I ensure I have got supplies like linen savers, nose tubes, plasters and facemasks. In my mind, I make certain I break my cases up basically into trauma and medical and set up my equipment i every scenario.
For burn victims, For certain I will make sure to pack in burn Shields and linen savers. For my obstetrics patience, I ensure I have got a lot of cord clamps, scissors and linen savers. I may need a space blanket to wrap the child up correctly into and I will use my ambulance blankets to cover all patients and minimize shock. I regard my blankets as a medical supply object because I recognize that if I have wrapped a patient or newborn in a blanket, the blanket is the same as a bandage. I can't just lose time waiting for it at the hospital (we give the patient in with the blanket around them at the hospital and we have drawn new blanket out of the store room). Most medical supplies must be signed out at the stores. I need to sign my name and be to blame for what I have got, I actually take my supply papers and books with me on the ambulance so that I can write down everything I have picked up and used on the call, to ensure I can get them exchanged. All things have got to be literally written down in our patients book indicating that the patient has received it and will be charged for everthing applied to them.
